This week I finished shooting “He and Rock&Roll”. This short film is a 70s love story that shakes the foundations of the “Almost Famous” rock band called “The Crawl”. The puppet master behind the bands success is their unorthodox manager Harold. He comes up with an incredibly well timed strategy that make their fans go crazy. The stratagem is to take advantage of the ambiguity of the time period, the free love and the flower power. Men dressed like women, with make up and an androgynous figure that still set the bar of what an alpha male should be. Or they just don´t care and brake the rules. H´n´R&R breaks also the stereotype of the bass player. The bass player of The Crawl gets all the girls. Being myself a bass player but foremost a women´s lover, I don´t really agree or disagree on this. It´s just a generalization. If you want to get all the girls you need to work on yourself and have a genuine love for women as I do. Practice your conversation skills, study psychology, analyze your body language and improve in all those areas you still have problems with. There are many sources I could recommend you. I recently read the book “The Authentic Actor” by Michael Laskin. He is a working actor here in LA for more than 30 years. I totally resonate with his ideas. I´ve always had a voice inside of me telling me how awesome I am and how many things I can achieve if I persevere. So I always listen to that voice and that´s how I take decisions in life. As an actor I agree with Michael that it´s the business of showing yourself…but have you asked yourself the question… do you have anything interesting to show? I´m sure of that. Everyone does! Now it´s all about the confident to be eager to shine. So you want to be like Brad Pitt?
1.Picture yourself on set with him (or whoever you are modeling in your career)
HOW DO YOU FEEL?
ARE YOU READY TO HANDLE NOT BEING OVERWHELMED BY THE SOLE IDEA?
2.Picture yourself on a producers meeting with him.
ARE YOU ABLE TO MAKE BUSINESS DECISIONS AND HANDLE A CONVERSATION AT HIS LEVEL THAT WILL BENEFIT YOU?
3.Picture yourself at his home.
ARE YOU ABLE TO BE A PERSON AND NOT A BOWL OF YELLY?
CAN YOU SHINE AS MUCH AS YOU THINK YOUR ROLE MODEL DOES?
